About

Just a blog about the process leading up to and including In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) from the viewpoint of the male partner. This is a candid discussion involving mature subjects. Sometimes I will describe events in a way that may make you feel uncomfortable. This is not for the sake of being gratuitous, but to illustrate my own discomfort in a particular situation. Whatever discomfort you have reading an event I describe is only a fraction of the discomfort I felt living the event.

Also this blog is in no way a means to degrade any of the doctors or nurses. Everyone we have had to deal with has been fantastic. But there are aspects of the process from the male perspective that seem like an afterthought. Perhaps if I wasn’t the cause for needing IVF, I might not be as sensitive to these afterthoughts. I’m just documenting my observations and I mean no disrespect to anyone.

Oh wait…you wanted to know about us didn’t you. The wife and I are in our mid thirties and have been married for 2 years with no kids from any previous relationships. We both want a family just as many of you reading this page do. We currently reside on the east coast in central Florida. For more information check out my first post.

  1. Just noticed you are in Central Florida, we are as well. I didn’t want to share on my blog, but we are also working with male infertility. We want to try again next year. I am staying hopeful for you also!

    • We get central Florida TV, but we are really east coast on the north edge of the viewing area during the weather report. 😉

We simply can’t afford to double down on the financing. Plus the debt from the drugs…it will be two years until we would be able to try again. Putting us in our late 30’s. I’m keeping our options open. But it will take some major help to be able to attempt this again.

We shall see. Anyway, we are both hopeful luck turns around for you and your husband. 🙂
